StrawberrySocial’s Year in Review: 10 Highlights of 2021
As 2021 draws to a close, we look back on the key milestones achieved and celebrate the great work done by the StrawberrySocial team over the last 12 months.
1. The StrawberrySocial team is now 40 strong
It’s the people that make StrawberrySocial different; empathic and clever experts who always turn out great work. During the particularly challenging circumstances that came with a pandemic, we are proud to have built such a resilient, trusted and talented team while continuing to prioritise the healthy work-life balance and flexible working culture that StrawberrySocial was founded on.
2. We celebrated our 6th birthday in March
Where does the time go?
3. Signed 7 new clients and worked on 13 new projects
New clients this past year included the amazing SuperAwesome (of Epic Games) plus one we’ve always wanted to work with – Samaritans. And, 2021 has certainly been the year of the charity Facebook Challenge Group! It’s been crazy busy and client’s have seen some great fundraising results – plus very happy communities. Several of the StrawberrySocial team also took part in Challenge Groups, proving that we wholeheartedly support the work the charity sector does (and also had a lot of fun along the way).
4. 25% growth in professional training completed
StrawberrySocial’s team is made up of expert community and social media professionals. We hand-select team members, screening for sensitivity, emotional intelligence and empathic listening skills. Team members have online safety qualifications such as CEOP and NSPCC (all that work on sensitive/youth projects are put onto the NSPCC online safety course by us) and are Moderation Gateway certified and DBS checked. This year, our team continued to excel, with Amandine and Shane being promoted to Team Leaders on NHS Digital and Becca completing the National Crime Agency’s training course – Understanding Online Child Sexual Abuse.
5. CEO Global Today Award Win
Every year CEO Today Magazine identifies and honours the most respected companies and their C-Level executives who lead the way on a global stage. This year, our CEO Rebecca Fitzgerald was recognised!
6. StrawberrySocial featured in the press
We were delighted to receive coverage in some excellent publications and websites this year, including Legacy Club and Startup Magazine.
7. StrawberrySocial was a CharityComms Digital Conference headline sponsor
We were incredibly proud to sponsor the stellar 2021 CharityComms Digital Conference in November. StrawberrySocial Founder, Rebecca Fitzgerald, shared her top online reputation and engagement best practice advice and tips at the event. Click here for a summary if you missed it and here. This excellent event is also now avaliable on demand from the CharityComms website.
8. Samaritans FB Challenge Campaign
Mental health is a core value for us here at StrawberrySocial (and is one of the reasons Rebecca founded the company) so taking on Samaritans as a client this year was a huge boost. We now get the chance to work with Samaritans on their FB Challenge Groups and their social channels. We are incredibly proud to work with such a lovely bunch of people.
9. We celebrated our 1 year anniversary as a Living Wage Employer
2021 marks a year since StrawberrySocial was accredited as a Social Media Moderation Agency through The Living Wage Foundation. Trust is the number one answer when talent is asked why they stay with an organisation. When you are accredited by Living Wage this tells your team, and prospective new staff, that you’re an organisation that values employees and contractors enough to pay them a decent wage. The work of the moderator needs to be more highly valued throughout the industry and we strongly encourage that.
10. A record year of high growth at StrawberrySocial
Our recent annual accounts showed that we have grown by approximately 50% as compared to the previous year! We are hugely excited about it all and also… a tad knackered!
